MicroFour’s PracticeStudio X11 Receives ONC-ATCB Certification by Drummond Group

12/15/2010 – Amarillo, TX

MicroFour’s PracticeStudio X11 has received the federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning Complete EHR Ambulatory Certification. The designation officially deems the electronic health record (EHR) software capable of enabling providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Tested and certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the EHR software is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. “The certification validates that our software can help providers take part in the electronic revolution that is reverberating across the healthcare industry,” says MicroFour President Jay Taylor. “Healthcare providers can now leverage our software not only to make significant care improvements but also to achieve meaningful use and qualify for incentive funds under ARRA. We are proud to offer providers the opportunity to truly improve care in their communities.” Drummond Group’s ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers. “The need to leverage information technology in the healthcare industry is huge – as the quality of care and efficiency benefits that come with computerization can really make a difference in the overall patient experience,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group. “We’re ready to help transform the industry by providing the sophisticated software testing services that ensure that vendors and hospitals are offering systems that are capable of meeting the meaningful use standards required to obtain incentive funds as well as the rich functionality required to move the clinical care needle forward.” This Complete EHR is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ATCB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. PracticeStudio X11 Earns 2011 PQRS Single Provider and Group Qualification

12/15/2010 – Amarillo, TX

PracticeStudio X11, a complete Electronic Health Record (EHR) software product by MicroFour, Inc., has earned Physicians Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Single Provider and Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) qualification for 2011. PQRS Qualified status officially affirms that the EHR is capable of tracking and reporting data pertaining to a specific set of health-related criteria determined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Medicare providers who satisfactorily report the required amount of data to CMS each year are eligible for funding incentives from the federal government. “As EHR developers, we see PQRS as the gateway for significant quality measure implementation over the next several years,” says Jay Taylor, President of MicroFour. “Of course, improvement and advancement of patient care is the ultimate goal, but providing real, meaningful data to the practicing physician is a great side benefit.” EHR products qualified for PQRS undergo a rigorous series of tests and readiness reviews to ensure that the product not only allows for sufficient entry of reporting data but also enables individual providers to submit that data to CMS at the end of each reporting period. Products qualified for the Group Practice Reporting Option are further tested and are deemed capable of tracking and submitting data for healthcare practices with multiple providers.   “PQRS is a milestone on the road to transparent interoperability and data results sharing for all physicians,” says Taylor. “We have invested the time and resources to make PQRS a very reachable goal for any provider using our software.”
